Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) is a public organization wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi government with a separate legal identity and financial and administrative independence. ADWEA was established in March 1998 pursuant to Abu Dhabi Law No.2 of 1998 and replaced the former Water and Electricity Department (WED).
